Default 547 Error

Please Login to Remove!

I'm getting a 547 error on Curve 8130. Went though all the steps to
wipe the device and reinitialize as posted on this board and
am geting an "unable to complete the loading operation
error, unable to reconnect to the device during
a multi stage load operation. unexecpted error encountered
[J:0x00000005]

How do I fix this? Did a search on this error message and
all I got was a few postings that were not in english.

Hello - the multi stage error is means that the BlackBerry isn't getting enough of a charge from the USB connection.

Make sure that you are plugged directly into the back of your PC or laptop and not using a USB hub - may want to try another port.

Start all over - using JL_CMDER to wipe out the BB again (and make sure your backup is available).

Good luck.

Default Continued error

I'm getting an "unable to connect to the device during a multiple stage
load operation. Tried it on several different computers. Still getting the same
error.

Tried on every USB port. I have no USB hubs.

Have you tried using JL_CMDER to completely wipe out the phone?

Yes I tried JL Commander, is it only supposed to run for
about a second when you wipe the device?

(It may run for about a second since i've wiped
it previously in the attempts to reload the OS.)

Let me run it again to check that:

The screen on the blackberry goes dark, the JL Cmder says connected,
then goes to the menu.

When I exit JL cmder the blackberry shows a 507 error.

That's good. That means it has no operating system or applications.

Now try to install the OS, with NO third party applications. Just the handheld OS.

Go into c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

delete vendor.xml
run "loader.exe"

So basically my 8310 curve is now a paper weight?

Any suggestions of how to replace? I'm not up for an upgrade
for 14 months and have that much time left on my
contract. Does anyone do repairs? Are repairs even worth
bothering with? Are unlocked version worth getting? (I found
some on ther internet for $188.00)

Sometimes you have to run JL_Commander 20 times or more to get it to take. Pulling the BB battery while it's connected to your pc can sometimes help force the connection and enable JL_Commander to do it's magic. BlackBerry's are rarely bricked beyond salvage.

An update all these months later. Never could get the curve to work.
.
Broke down and got a Bold 9700.

The Curve is still a brick.

Note to self: never ever get a refurbished phone.

Could have saved a LOT of time if you had said it was refurbished in the first thread!

Anyway... Enjoy the 9700.

Congrats on the Bold 9700! It's the top model available now and a supremely capable device.

You might consider sending the old Curve to someone you trust to see if they can revive it. You could make a few buck on re-sale if it's working.
