I recently had to switch phones and change numbers. I need to forward SMS messages from an 8700 to my 8900. I don't have the data plan on the old phone and I just need an app that relays text messages to another number.
Is there an app for that?
To clarify:
I need the SMS to be relayed to another phone number as soon as it's received. I need to be able to quickly receive and respond to SMS messages sent to an 8700 sitting in my office to the 8900 I'm carrying.
There is no "SMS forwarding" app, but perhaps setting call forwarding from the old number to the new would also forward the SMS messages as well. I'm not sure on this, but give it a whirl.

Nope. Call forwarding forwards only your voice calls.

I think this is likely to become a common request pretty soon. Texting is overtaking voice calls as the #1 method of communication on cell phones, both smart phones and dumb phones alike. I rather think it would be a spiffing feature.
