Default How to get voicemail greeting to say just phone number?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Curve 8330 and I need to get the voicemail to only say the phone number when people call the phone and not have any personalized greeting. How do I do that?

Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Go into your voicemail for your service from your phone
There is a setting to change greeting there

I've gone through the options given when I call my voicemail from my phone, but I cannot figure out where it is. When I select the option to use a "general" greeting, my personal greeting is taken off but then the greeting becomes me saying my name and not the phone number. I don't hear an option to use the phone number in the greeting and not have it be a personalized one.

Voicemail isn't a feature of the BB. It's a feature of your carrier. You'd need to check with Verizon or someone else on Verizon.

Have you tried to see if you can remove your recorded name?

Yes, I've tried to see if I could delete my recorded name, but I don't think I can. I will call my carrier tomorrow. Thank you very much, takeshi.

But usually carriers provide this voicemail feature for free. And I agree that sometimes carriers will or may not include this feature on every plan. BlackBerries may have this option on it's phone settings but it can or may depend on the subscription plan.

Megankings, that may be the way it is in your country but that is not the standard here. The OP who started this thread almost two months ago is in the US.

With my carrier in Canada, I have to pay for and set up the voicemail to either just say my number or a greeting.
