Don't even have it yet.
But I have purchased the unit.

How many sets of contacts? 1 for the phone and another for email? (old palm user here).

I'm sure I will have more questions, after it get my BB activated.

What do you mean "set of contacts?"

ifonline 11-25-2009 07:03 AM

If you mean how many e-mail addresses and phone numbers per contact record, here is the layout of the record:

- Title
- First
- Last
- Nickname
- Picture
- Company
- Job Title
- Email
- Email
- Work
- Work 2
- Home
- Home 2
- Mobile
- Mobile 2
- Pager
- Work Fax
- Home Fax
- Other
- Work Address (relevant address fields under this heading)
- Home Address (relevant address fields under this heading)
- Birthday
- Anniversary
- Categories
- Web Page
- User 1
- User 2
- User 3
- User 4
- Notes

You can actually add more e-mail addresses, although I honestly don't know what the limit is. Hope this helps.

One set for everything. (y) Your BlackBerry can be a mirror of your computer's email program.

On a treo, the phone part had contacts for telephones numbers, and then anther set of contacts for email.

I am hopping the BB uses a single set of contacts for both!

rambo47 11-25-2009 07:07 AM

On all my Treos I had just one set of contacts, and they included both phone numbers and email addresses. One set for everything. It was just like my BlackBerry is now. If you set it up with different contacts for the same person - one for phone, one for email - that's a user choice and not something you have to do.

ifonline 11-25-2009 07:07 AM

Yep. You have one contact record that contains all of the information I posted above. There is no separate list of contacts for phone numbers and for e-mail addresses. Everything is stored together.

It can't come in soon enought.

I hope you enjoy it, and we'll be waiting for you to come back with more questions. If you have had a Treo, you shouldn't find the BB overwhelming, but if you do, we're just a mouse click away.

Anybody us orb or my.orb for watching a webcam at home?

It's best to start a new thread when you have a new/unrelated question. That way more people are likely to see it. Just make sure to post it in the appropriate forum.
