I have searched and not found a good answer to this. If your carrier doesnt support direct push to BB (verizon in my case) what is the best way to get yahoo mail? My issue is that I ONLY want my inbox from yahoo - if I forward my yahoo mail I will end up getting the contents of my bulk mail folder which gets about 100 spams a day. Is there any solution to this?

Details
To integrate a Yahoo! Mail Plus account with your BlackBerry account:

Connect to the BlackBerry Internet Service web site and log in to your BlackBerry account.
On the navigation bar, click Profile.
Under Email Accounts, click the hyperlink other email accounts.
Click Add Account.
Type the email address, user name, and password in the appropriate fields and click Submit.
Click the I have enabled POP access to my Yahoo! mailbox and want to add it option, then click Next.
If you see the message “Your email account has been successfully set up,” the integration is complete. The integrated account is listed with a green check mark in the Status column (on the far right). New email messages will begin appearing on the handheld from the integrated account.
If you see the message “We were unable to configure this mailbox,” the integration failed for one of the following reasons:

Your Yahoo! Email Plus account is not registered.
You entered the wrong account information. Repeat the process.
There is a temporary connection problem between the BlackBerry Internet Service and the Yahoo! Mail web site. Try integrating your account later.

are you saying you only get the emails from the inbox? what happens to the bulk mail folder?

What he is saying is unless you pay for the Yahoo Mail Plus you will not get it forwarded to your BB.

try yahoo pops! it's a little app that runs on your desktop (outlook) that continously checks your yahoo mail and then grabs it and puts it on your BB...

I understand that part. I am trying to understand how people deal with the huge amount of spams that come along with a yahoo account. Is there a way to just forward things in your inbox and NOT the bulk mail folder?

I rarely get spam on my yahoo account. Once in a while I'll get one but it still comes over to my BB. Maybe you should create a new account and only use it with friends or people you know? If you have Yahoo Plus, you can create alias email accounts for everyone else to give your address.

BTW, It does not forward mail that is already in your inbox, it only sends new incoming mail.

I get virtually no spam to my Yahoo mail (maybe 1 a week), but currently I am using the free mail, so I can't forward it to the BB. I can view my Yahoo Mail on the Browser with my 8700c though if I want to.

Hey VR6 I got the YPOPs working on my Outlook. How do I get it to push to my BB. I can't figure that part out.

SmurfBerry, is the BB account through your work or individual user? I would guess if individual, you could still setup the outlook part through your webclient, I did that myself for my work email (individual user)

So what your saying is go to my wen client and set up the yahoo part? I already have my home outlook POP going tothe BB plus another IMAP. This is for work, however I am a 3 letter Gov't employee so everything is forwarded directly to a private IMAP account for security reasons.

Have your yahoo mail directed with YPOPs to your home outlook if that is already being sent to your BB. I've never used YPOPs but guessing it has the ability to receive/forward to another mail account?

Okay check this out. I am starting to scare myself. This might not be the best way to do it, but it works.

I installed the YPOPS and that is brining the Yahoo mail into my Home Outlook 2003 fine and I also am bringing in Gmail, and my personal account POP (which is already going to the BB). I have another work IMAP account that is outthere somewhere, but whatever.

SO pay attention to this. This is where it gets good. All I did with the Yahoo (after YPOPS) and the Gmail is go into the Rules Wizard and set up a rule to forward specific mail from certain accounts to a specific address ( The BB).

Pretty sweet Huh?

That works great if you have a computer on all the time.... any ideas if you dont?

Look what do you want me to do here buddy. I have these coming into my home PC which is on all the time and Outlook is running in the background...seemed like a perfect scenario.

thankx a million .... i can now get my free yahoo email " pushed " to my BB 8700c .... ! ! ! YPops works great .

this is what i did to link up yahoo mail ( free ) to outlook express 6 account . thankx to YPops and BB furum members ....much thankx .

in the outlook express 6 start page find :

1. Select "Accounts..." from the "Tools" menu. 2. Click "Add" button and select "Mail...". 3. Enter your name and click "Next". 4. Enter your email address and click "Next". 5. Set "My incoming mail server is a" to POP3. 6. Set "Incoming (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) mail server" to "127.0.0.1". 7. Set "Outgoing (SMTP) mail server" to "127.0.0.1" and click "Next". (Verify that SMTP is enabled in YPOPs.) 8. Set "Account name:" to your Yahoo! login. 9. Set "Password:" to you Yahoo! password and hit "Next". 10. Hit "Finish". 11. Click on new account named "127.0.0.1" and hit "Properties". 12. Rename account to "YPOPs" or something nice. 13. Select "Servers" tab. 14. Check "My server requires authentication". 15. Select "Advanced" tab. 16. Change "Server Timeouts" to Long - 5 minutes. 17. You may wish to select "Leave a copy of messages on server". This way the messages will not be deleted from Yahoo! when you download them. 18. You may wish to select "Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items'". This way when you delete a message in OE and empty the trash it's deleted from Yahoo! as well. NOTE: This instruction set was provided by Angus Graham.

yeah after installing YPOPs, you gotta have a forwarding rule in outlook to forward all yahoo emails to your BB email account...no biggey...then you're good

if you don't have your computer on all the time then install it on your work computer, if you dont have a work computer, then leave your computer on all the time...depends on how much you want Yahoo push email b/c i dont' think there any other way to do this without paying yahoo for that POP3 priveledge...

k, let me make sure i got this right, i have ypops installed is working, and now as long as i leave my pc running 24-7 (which i do) i just let outlook run in the back ground? and how do i get outlook to check for new mail more than like every 1/2 hr?
