Default Not receiving all emails...

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and need some help. I have my blackberry setup and it's somewhat working. When an email is sent to me, I receive the email on my BB. But when I receive an email where I'm in the group (not directly to me), I don't get it on my BB. Why?

For example: email sent to [email address] will work
email sent to blackberryforums group will not work

Thanks in advance.

In addition as secondary questions, is there a way to not see the sent messages in my inbox? i do an alt-i to see incoming only to facilitate that now. Is there a better way?

On the 8700, there is an option to hide mail. From your mail, click on option/general options and there you can hide sent and hide filed messages.

In regards to your first question, allot may depend on how you are getting your mail.

See this thread: FAQ: What Are The Methods of Receiving Email On BlackBerry?

Thanks for the quick response Mitch!

I'm using the 7100g and using BES.

The hide filed messages cleans up my Inbox but I don't have the option to hide sent msgs.

That thread doesn't answer my 1st question. Read through the whole thread. Any other ideas?

Thanks.

is it possible that your ISP server sees messages that are not addressed directly to you (ie: group emails, BCC, CC emails, etc) as spam or possibly junk mail and as a result des not forward them?

I receive all my email msgs on my computer, it just doesn't get forward onto my BB. My colleagues here are on the same service and they receive ALL their emails which is why it's so odd.

Thanks Shane!!

Does your BES have any filters set up? Are you and your colleagues set up on the BES the same?

I've contacted the BES administrator to see if any filters are setup but I doubt it since my colleague's works. And yes, he's on the same BES server.

Mitch,

You were right. I had filters on my account. My BES Admin updated my profile and it's all set. Thanks!!!

A friend found how to turn off sent emails on the BB. Please refer to following link.

Prevent Sent Messages going to BB ?

Filters can be set on both your BB handheld and on the BES? Or is it one or the other?

Thanks.

Filters can be set on both. It's just different kind of filters. For my case, it had to be done on BES.
