Alot of it depends on who your carrier is and what phone you are using. I have a Bold 9000 on ATT/Cingular with a voice and unlimited data plan (for mobile internet & email). I was told by my carrier that it is possible to use my phone as an IP modem for my laptop, but that kind of usage is NOT covered in my data plan and I would incur additional data charges (A LOT of charges).

There is third party software (Tetherberry), and a way to modify Desktop Manager as well as configuring Windows to see your phone as a modem in order to get on line.

But again - it all depends on your device and your carrier.

In order to do this you will need a data plan/tethering plan as the OP stated they do not have.

I think the OP wants to do it the other way. Sounds like he wants to use the laptop's internet to go online with his BB. That's not do-able.

Yep, the OP wants to do the reverse, use the computer's internet connection.

I agree but either way doesn't work given what the OP stated.
