for my home page or (wallpaper) i want to get rid of the screen that has the bridge and sunset. what i want to do is have time, local temp, latest canadian currency, latest news items. ??

That would require an active home screen. I have never seen one on the Blackberry except the time display.
Also it would mean constant internet access requiring an unlimited data plan. Not a bad idea though

There might be a way to do a theme that way. I use Pocketday: it displays all that data and moves to the foreground after a set number (5 for me) of minutes of inactivity. The only thing it won't auto-update is the financials - I have to manually update that. You can reorder, customize, and collapse the sections:

Yea and if you carry spare batteries in your pocket you should be all set
