Have had several BB's in particular the pearl and the storm (my current phone) cannot manage this file free! i have removed everything i don't use per the posts, and i use quickpull which spends all day telling me its below 20MB's with almost nothing installed! I mean i see iphones with 50 apps running smooth as butter and my phone can't have facebook and poynt!! WHY WhY WhY!!! im so close to giving in and paying the termination fees and switching but i truly am a blackberry fanatic so finding it very hard to do. Thanks if anyone can help with this.

Have you verified that there are no media files in device memory?

What are your database sizes? Options->Status, access the menu and choose database sizes.

iPhone != Blackberry. Unless you're willing to switch, comparing entirely different platforms is irrelevant. Each has its pros and cons.

Take a look at messages > options > general options > keep messages. Is it set to Forever and are you keeping a ton of messages on the blackberry?

I changed that a while back from 30 to 15 didn't really put a dent in it, is there a way to wipe out sms log entirely?

go to date - menu - delete prior.
this can be used for emails, sms, mms, call logs etc.

Wow! I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for that tip. After reboot it got me back to 39 megs. Thanks a lot.

That's why I asked if you are keeping a ton of messages on the blackberry. I should have wrote incredible number of messages instead.

No problem. I didn't mean it that way. It's just frustrating trying to make yourself understood sometimes, especially with the different generations, nationalities, and native languages on the forum. I was kicking myself for using the word ton.
