Default Backup file details

Please Login to Remove!

I had to replace my BB and I want to back up only a few things. Would like to get a fresh start and not bring over any crap not needed. Where can I find a list of what's in each file. Some of them are easy (like address) but others are not that easy to determine what's in the file.

thanks Rodney

Just do a selective Restore by clicking on Advanced ... in the Backup/Restore section of BlackBerry Desktop Manager and select the databases you want to send to the new device.

Sorry guess I didn't explain very well. That's where I'm at (restore/advanced)... but what is in each database? There are a lot of databases and some are labeled with simple names (like addresses) but others I don't know what it is am actually restoring. Just wondered if anyone had a list of what data is in each file.
thanks Rodney

Generally the backup copies files from the address book, calendar, memoxxx8217;s and any thing you added from the beginning like applications. To limit the items, you can either selectively backup or delete selections from you handheld address book or emails. To be honest everything on the list when you open the DM looks simple and connected to the installed data. Be careful what you delete, it may be important to the operation of the BB. There is not much room for xxx8220;crapxxx8221; on a blackberry. Why are you concerned?

Well, I would like to bring over my pictures and ring tones for sure. Here are a few I don't know what's in them.

Attachment data, content store, handheld agent, handheld key store, options, trusted key store.

thanks Rodney
