Default new blackberry user with some questions

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys just got my first blackberry which is the 8520. I really like it so far but I am a little confused with the messages application. Isn't it meant to pull in all messages from inboxs and sms folders etc. Atm my emails and facebook messages show up in it but my sms messages do not. I like the idea of a central place to see all my messages instead of various inboxes. I can use the menu to send an sms from the messages application but replies goto the sms folder and don't show up in the messages one.

Also is there a way to kill an application rather than it staying open in the application switcher?

Thanks guys

Welcome to the forums.

In the Messages app, go into Options -> General Options and set 'SMS and Email Inboxes' to Combined. Then all your SMS will show in the Messages app.

As for the apps, some of them will always show active in the app switcher. Apps like Messages, Browser, Phone, and BlackBerry Messenger. For other apps, make sure you choose Exit or Close when you're done with them to shut them down properly.

you need a blackberry data plan. t-mobile do not offer blackberry data plans on PAYG.

great.
you either need to get a contract (flext, combi) or a SIM Only plan.
With the blackberry email booster (AND web n' walk/internet).
