The wife and I each got our Verizon 9630s about a month ago. They're on the same account, both are BIS (personal e-mails only), etc.

She gets notifications on hers about BB updates (OS updates, BB Messenger to.55, then .56, etc via the little circle with the red asterisk) while I don't get any such notifications and only learn about updates when she mentions it or I read about them here. My phone is the primary line on the account, if that makes a difference (and it shouldn't). Neither of us has added a lot of 3rd party apps - quickpull, google search, Blackstar GPS, etc.

Is there some notification setting that I may have inadvertently changed? Anyone know what settings I need to specify to ensure I get BB update notifications?

Do you have BlackBerry App World installed on your device?

She has app world installed, you don't.

MM & MD, I do have app world installed - its one of the first things I installed. I'm downloading BB messenger .56 on it right now.

Maybe I will try reinstalling app world...think that'd make a difference?

I know I never used to get update notifications; until I opened app world, usually on wi-fi, and it finally told me.
Of course, I went onto app world to download the updated app, that Id read about here. lol

I get notifications, even when app world is closed. I haven't checked which address they come to, or if it is pushed to my pin #, or what. But the notications appear both in my message folder and as an alert icon at the top of the home screen.
