Default Attachments and Redirector

I have a Blackberry Curve 8300. Someone just told me that Verizon told him that you can't open attachments if you use Redirector. We are a small company with Outlook on a network.

Is this true?

Yes.
Redirector is extremely old technology, and heard that it wasn't being supported anymore by RIM.

Typically, Redirector strips off all attachments from email. It was designed for a time when BlackBerrys only did plain text email and attachments presented storage problems. The old devices had very limited onboard memory and no expansion cards.
