Default No 3G on unlocked tmo 9700 with ATT sim?

Please Login to Remove!

I went from an AT&T bb 8900 to an unlocked T-Mobile 9700 bold and voice & data is working but not 3g.

Is that because the phone in AT&T's system is still curve or 8900? Customer care said my sim is provisioned for 3g, any thoughts?

Thanks,
Shane

According to the specs I've read, the T-Mobile version supports different 3G bands than the AT&T version. Your T-Mo Bold may not have the bands required for AT&T's 3G.

Anybody feel free to jump in and correct me. Just be gentle please!

According to the 50 previous posts on the same topic (ahem), you will never be able to get a T-Mobile 9700 to acquire 3G on AT&T as they have different frequencies. Lots, and lots of posts on this.
