Default Multiple email addresses possible? (BES = 1 and GMAIL = 2)?

Please Login to Remove!

Here's my question/problem. I've got an 8330 from work. It's on Sprint's network. It's setup for BES and my corporate email works fine (send/receive/etc). But what I'd like to do is setup a 2nd address (my Gmail account) on the device so I can email friends and family and use this address with FaceBook for Blackberry.

Is this possible?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

J

talk to your BES admin.
They may not allow you to use it for personal email, and even if they do, they might not allow facebook.

Default FaceBook already works with my BES (corporate) account

they're "ok" with it because they aren't filtering out who I can and cannot send email to. So, I am able to post just fine. But I don't want to continue to use my BES (corporate) email account for FB. I want to use my Gmail account.

Is it possible to have both accounts ( 1 BES 1 "other") on a single BB?

you would go to email setup icon - setup for personal email
sometimes it doesnt show.

you go to sprint's BIS site and create an account.

Default m.google.com

I downloaded the google App for my blackberry (m.google.com). It allowed easy setup and after following the idea above, I was able to keep my gmail separate from my blackberry inbox. I think I had to option to combine but glad I didn't. You may be able to start with the gmail app, but that wasn't the path that I took. I'm pleased with what I have.

Question: I have my own blackberry device that I pay for (and expense to my company), that runs corporate email on a BES server. I have also set up a gmail account on this device. Is the gmail running on BES or BIS? Are my gmail messages remaining private?? How about PIN to PIN messages? BBM? Thank you in advance for your help!

Gmail is on BIS, not BES. For the rest, refer to this article:

Wait he said he using BES I don't think you can have both a BIS and BES account on your device, unless RIM changed something.

As BB-Tech Support stated, this is possible. A lot of companies block BIS access on BES devices.

That may be the case in Canada and other countries as well. In America, the BES plan includes BIS access automatically.
