I think you mis-read what he's saying.
To the OP, pull the battery out. Leave it out. Goto your providers BIS site (google the name of your provider plus BIS+Provisioning or provider+BIS).
It'll ask for your IMEI/ESN+PIN located either under the battery or in Options>Status of your BB OS from the main screen.
Once entered you can setup your specific providers BIS email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and then you can add your own gmail/ymail/aol/xxx email address (up to 10). Once all complete pop in your Battery, on the providers' BIS site tell it to resend service books to your BB; you BB will receive it.
Then try FaceBook.
If you cannot get past the first/second paragraph above then the issue with your provider > you may not have a BIS data provisioned. I get the same thing you get on my Telus 9700 "I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server" because I'm on a payas you go account so no data provisioned.
