Default YahooIM Chanrges .. please help

Can someone tell me if Yahoo IM on T-mo thru my BB will be charged. because I have never been charged and this month they charged me for about 500 IMs.
does not make any sense. did I change any settings or what.
help is really appreciated

Are you using an actual program to log into YahooIM and message that way (which is data) or are you having your messages forwarded to your phone - which would use text messages.

i have installed the yahoo IM on my BB 8700 and i am logging into it. I don't have any kind of forwading.
