When I call land line from my Black berry curve 8900(T-mobile), my name also shows up along with the ph#. But I don't want my name to show up, just the ph#. When I call a mobile, I don't have this problem, as my name doesn't show up.

if your phone number and name are inserted in the landline's phonebook, it would appear with your name.

Well, If I call a landline that has stored my number under a name like 'Swine', my call will show up as 'Swine', that's not a problem for me.

Because I use my cell for my business, and I have this weird foreign name (it is hard to pronounce) I don't want my full name to show up on my customer's landline when they have caller ID feature. So that I can say something like 'Hi, this is John calling from ABC Consulting'...

And my full legal name(under which my BB is registered with T-mobile) does show up now on the landlines of my customers because they have called-id feature on, and I always get these questions about my name.

I'm pretty sure that you could also have a different name show up on the caller ID. For example, if your full legal name is Jonathan Humbergarterner Smith, you could request that TMO change it to Jon Smith.

At my work we often get customers changing their call id to novelty names, we're not really supposed to do it, but it's all fun and games
