Default bb pin problems

i have just got my bb up and running thanks to you guys
now for the next lesson

i have downloaded blackberry messenger and have addded a few contacts but have not been able to get them connected. do i need to reg a email addy or anything like that and if so how?

at the mo the messenger is in my apps, but doesnt appear in my messages icon in the form of conversation like i have seen on my freinds...

any ideas? thanks guys.

Just to make sure, do you have a BlackBerry data plan? You need a BB data plan to use PIN/BlackBerry Messenger.

Once you have that, I recommend adding friends to BBM via their PIN, not their email address (PIN always works better for me).

You have to get it by calling your carrier and requesting they add the BlackBerry data plan to your line.....
