I've downloaded the new BB Messenger and it's great, other than the following two annoyances which happen ALL THE TIME... Any help would be appreciated PLEASE!

1) The most annoying problem I keep on getting is that I'll be typing, my BB will freeze for a few seconds (like it does all the time due to the data transfer... damn BB and their slow processors), and then I won't be able to see what I type after that. The chat pane will be frozen on whatever I was typing before the freeze (I can still send though). The only fix is to delete all the chat history and start fresh, which is entirely unacceptable.

2) The LED Indicator will keep on flashing even after I've read a message! It won't go away until the person I'm talking to sends me another message. Again, I think this has to do with the BB's slow processor and it freezing.

Please, any help would be appreciated...

Are you running BBM 5 on your 8900 with OS 4? If so, that is the problem. BBM 5 works best with OS 5, and while it will run on OS 4 devices, many have complained of issues exactly as you describe.

I had the very same problems with my 9000 running OS 4. Now that I have a 9700 with OS 5, BBM 5 works perfectly. None of the issues I experienced before are present. And to clarify something you mentioned... I don't believe this is an issue with the processor. I believe this is strictly an issue with OS 4.

Ah, that makes sense. Unfortunately AT&T hasn't released an official OS 5 as of yet. I would've downloaded a beta OS 5, but I've heard some errors being reported like Facebook not working and such... Or is there now a good working OS 5?

Also, I have issues globally on my phone that have to deal with the BB processor being slow whenever data is being transferred (SMS and E-mails, BB App World, Weather apps, etc.). It's not just BB Messenger.

I have (had) the same problem with my 9000.
I have to scroll back up to previous posts to get the led to stop blinking. its the only way BBm knows that you have read the message I guess.

The processor on the 8900 may be slow, I'm not sure. I'm just saying that the issues you are experiencing with BBM 5, I believe, have more to do with OS 4 than anything else.

You could always get the 9700! Go for it... you know you want it!

Unfortunately my BB won't stop blinking even after I scroll up.

And yea, I know I want one! But I just got my 8900 so I'll have to own it for at least another year...

I have a Bold 9700 and bb messenger 5 and it will freeze and lock me out of conversations. I have to remove the battery and restart to unlock it. Anyone else having this problem? Solutions? Thanks!
