| No ringtones!!! Please Login to Remove! Just bought a BB 9000 yesterday and after getting it home and inserting my sim....I noticed that I don't have any ringtones on the phone. When it rings, it plays a song apparently downloaded by the previous owner, but I can't even seem to find that on the phone. How can I get the default ringtones back and delete this lousy song that plays now when someone calls?
Thanks! | | Offline

Reinstall the OS on the phone.

| Apparently, despite the OP's board rank, he doesn't know where the search button is.

| Another one of these obnoxious when you try to help, then more obnoxious when you give further solutions.
A lot of people don't check the manual, and once they do they no longer need help. If not there are additional suggestions and solutions. | | Offline

Respect is a two-way street. You need to give it to get it in return.

Why don't you consider that some of us do read the instruction manual before we even post here....don't box me in to a category of those who don't. If you want to ban me, go ahead and do what you gotta do......but don't get all bent out of shape because I wanted someone to realize that the manual was read before I even thought about posing the question on the forum. | | Offline

| I do see your point, but I don't think you see ours. We answer questions daily from users that don't read the manual. You know what they say when you ASSUME, you make and ASS out of U and ME. That's why we didn't assume you read the manual. If you would have posted the steps you have tried in your original post, it would make things a lot easier for the rest of us.
In the end, the "duh" comment was uncalled for and came across as you giving attitude. How were we to know that you read the manual unless you were to tell us?

| First you post 'duh' then you post Quote: |
I suggest getting your underwear out your butt! I think the first reference would be checking the manual! Thx for your help!!
| Then the A-holes comment. That's not a good attitude if you want assistance.
Simply saying something like "I've already checked the manual, any other ideas" would have avoided this whole thing.
As to your original question, what HAVE you done (other then check the manual) to try and resolve the issue? Did you wipe the OS and reload it?

| Ok, sorry to anyone that I offended. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers or risk banishment. However, my step was reading the manual to find exactly the ringtones were located.....they weren't there so I jumped on the site. I have not reloaded the OS as of yet. | | Offline

| Works for me (as Advil kicks in). Starting over.....
What OS is on the device now? Can you click on the Media icon and then press the Menu button and go into Explore and see the 'device' folder? Under there you should see more folders - do you see any ringtones in any of those folders?
