Default Upgrade from 7750, saying w/VZW. Advice?

Please Login to Remove!

Been reading about the 8700 (I know no news re: Verizon), 7130 and 7250. Would like to upgrade from 7750. Since the lack of memory was one of my biggest complaints with the 7750, wondering if I should upgrade to the bb with the largest memory, even though I prefer the other type keyboard. Thanks for your opinions.

(btw, I thought the 7750 phone worked great - I have no need for a speakerphone, but I'd like to have the weather on pocketday, get faster internet access, add a few more programs. I might look at the treo 700, but I couldn't type on the 650 and the 700 doesn't look much different. And I've read on these boards that the Treo is unreliable - I'm already on my third 7750 thanks to Verizon's insurance program... My biggest needs are email, phone and durability, since my bb travels with me when coaching and it has taken a number of falls from fields to concrete locker room floors)

Thanks for your help.

I've had the 7250 for most of this year, and I've never run into memory issues. I also run many 3rd party applications as well....

The screen is nicer on the 7130e and you get a speaker phone. But I've never enjoyed the "Suretype" keyboards...

Thank you. I'm frustrated with the 7750 and was wondering if I should approach the purchase of a new blackberry the same way I've been advised to purchase new computers - just get the most memory you can reasonably afford. Didn't know if it's a mistake to buy a new bb with 32 mb when I could have 64 mb. Of course, compared to about 14, anything will be an improvement!

The issue with the 7750 isn't a lack of memory...but a lack of processing power.

Thankfully this is not an issue on more current devices such as the 7250 or 7130e.

oh contrair (sp?) My friend, I have a bb 7750, i am running zero themes, the only apps I have are phone, browser, memopad, and a calculator. and If i dont clear the logs then I get down to under 1mb of memory left. I want to install a chess game-cant do it. I cant install google maps for god's sakes! So I say my biggest problem with the 7750 is lack of memory. I only have 1.5mb free file space. So, if anyone knows how I can free this ***** up please fill me in!

Wirelessly posted (7250: BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

Which OS version are you running? Sounds like you're running the older one (3.6?) which had the memory leak issue...

Hmmm...very odd. I know the 7750 has less memory than the 7780...and the 7750 is much noticeably slower than the 7780.

Either way, you'll be much happier with a modern Blackberry. And now you have the option of the 8703e on 1X/EVDO as well.
