So I just bought a Bold off CL, and it's only 6 months old. It's in good condition, other than a few scratches on the screen(you can only see them if you shine light on it) and the bezel is scratched up (But i plan on changing it to a black one anyways). However, I would still would like a newer phone and this one's still under warranty. Should i just exchange it, or would I run the risk of receiving a blackberry that doesn't function as well as my current one?

If you want a newer phone you should buy a new one. Why did you buy a used phone? No you shouldn't just exchange it.

And I never complained about not having a new one. But ofcourse a newer one would be nice.

Exchanging a phone that's not defective isn't an option. Plus you have to pay for shipping.

I know,but it's very easy to say something is defective with your phone in order to exchange for a new one. And shipping is free.

Since you bought this device off of craigs list, not sure if the warranty is transferable. Do you have proof of purchase?

You can get brand new 9000 for $99 with a contract.

In general, the warranty on a BlackBerry is not transferable.

And, I know for a fact with the carrier I work for that they will charge you for a replacement if you send them a phone that has nothing wrong with it and they send you a refurb in exchange.

Not to mention that this is deceitful, at best...This behavior does nothing but drive cost up for the rest of us.

I believe you need to leave your conscience be your guide.
