What do you mean specifically by "factory apps"?

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Download the software for the phone and update it thru the DTM. You'll have memo pad as well as everything else

thanks guys, memo pad and maps apps is what i am really after here and have them on my old phone and not on new. I have tried to transfer them on desktop unsuccessfully and am really lost here as to what to try next. Any other ways of getting these as i am from pretty small community and people at the wireless stores seem to no less about it than i do?

Go to the forum section for your device. At the top of that forum section will be a bunch of thread stickied at the top. Find the one for your specific device model number. Go into that thread and you will find the latest device OS for your model.

READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE THREAD.

Download the device software to your computer. Run the file that you download in order to install the device OS to your computer. Go into BlackBerry Desktop Manager and click on Application Loader.

Once it loads, select the elements that you wish to install on your device and follow the prompts.

Note that the process can take up to an hour or more.
