Default 8100 keeps searching address book for entries with W and E

Hi guys!

I've got a 2 year old 8100 used originally on UK's O2 network. It's unlocked now and I've used it on several other networks in different countries without any problem till yesterday.

But now it, as soon as the backlight goes off, automatically comes back to life and starts to type a long string of 'wewewewe....'; sometimes it goes on till the field is full! But if I lock the keyboard, the backlight lights up till the time limit (I've set it to 10secs), goes off, comes back on immediately and stay the 10secs... and the cycle continues!

So far I've tried cold booting, fiddled around with backlight settings, upgraded OS from 4.2 to 4.5... nothing has worked!

Can somebody please help me...?

Thanks in advance.
