I had previous version of Desktop Manager on my work laptop (running Windows XP Professional SP2). When I installed the 5.0 version the Roxio Media manager stopped working. Removed everything and reinstalled DM. When you click on Media Manager (Install button), a download begins (about 133MB), download completes succesfully, but the install fails (no error is given, simply closes after a couple of seconds). If I go into the folder D:\Documents and Settings\e434815\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\MediaManagerInstall\SR_MM\ and run Roxio Media Manager.msi I will get a message stating that another version is intalled, and I need to remove it before installing the current version. If I go to Control Panel - Add Remove programs, or if I look into the registry, I do not see anything for Roxio Media Manager.

I did the same process on my home laptop, with Windows 7 and Media manager works OK. Any suggestions?

Just an FYI for you.

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
