Question a couple newbie questions

hi everyone!

i'm a first-time blackberry user and had a couple (probably dumb) questions. i checked the FAQ but i couldn't find any answers, but if someone can link me to it i would appreciate it.

i'm looking to exchange my 8900 for another one due to a loose/broken key. my questions are: 1) is it possible for me to connect a new blackberry to my desktop manager that i used for my old blackberry, or is it a "one blackberry to one copy of the software" kind of thing? 2) is it possible to connect one blackberry to two desktop managers--say, if i want to restore the new blackberry with my work computer as opposed to restoring it at my home computer? 3) if i did what i said in #2, would the desktop manager at my home computer recognize the device, even if it's a new blackberry? (basically, can two different desktop managers--one at work, one at home--recognize the same blackberry and sync/backup/work with it).

i hope i was somewhat clear...thanks in advance for your help! and again, they're probably dumb questions, but i'm still learning!
