Default Do I need to edit Blackberry.alx?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm installing a 4.6 OS on a T-Mobile 8900. I only want the "Precision Silver" theme. Do I need to do any of the alx editing described in JohnClark's guide?

I'm following the guide to eliminate useless media files like sample images and ringtones to free up memory.

Edit: Also, is it safe to remove these two themes:

net_rim_theme_telefonica_zen_480x360_b.cod
net_rim_theme_vodafone_zen_480x360_b.cod

They don't have vendor codes, but I'm assuming they're vendor specific and not necessary for the OS to function.

Thos two cod's will only be loaded if the codes match in the blackberry.alx file.
So you can remove them from the java folder, but they wont be loaded to your device anyway.

And no, editing the BB.alx will allow MORE themes.

Thanks for your reply. It might make sense to move the ALX editing information to a different article. It's the longest and most confusing step in the guide, and it has nothing to do with eliminating files to free up memory.
