I am trying to run some third party apps on my bold, but every time i try to run thm I get a messsage which says that the "application has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outisde the firewall which is not allowed by your IT Policy"

I am with 02 in UK, it is a private Bold, not throughmy company.

Can anybody help?

Download, install and run JL_cmder.
Use the "Reset To Factory" option. This will remove the IT Policy.

I wonder how the IT policy is on the BB if you own it.
Some companys download IT policys if the employee is connected to the comapny services such as email. If your not then JL_cndr will work as Penguin states. If it comes back I would start checking your services.

I wonder if i did something silly to the firewall settings that set this IT Policy up? Can I edit it.
Some threads suggest that JL_cndr can make the whole thing die! I would hate that!

JL_cmdr does work IF YOU FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS. Just be sure to do a full backup before you do anything. Also I would make sure you have the latest desktp manager and handheld software on the PC before you start. You will find when it does not work it was because they were impatient and pull the bb off the reload or something just as stupid. Depending on your BB it can take a long time to reload. Just wait until it finishes.

IT policys are downloaded so thats why I aske about your services and your company.

The device had to have been conencted to a BES at some point in time to have an IT Policy. AFAIK, that is the only way for it to get there.

Did you buy the device used?

Now, if you are still connected to the BES from your company, I do not advise deleting the IT Policy and/or trying to circumvent it. the BES Admin will know right away and in some firms, tryign to get around it is grounds for termination.

OK so i think i need to use JL_cndr but when i get to Key Stores in the backup process on Desktop manager I get an "unknown error" message and the process stops.
Obviously, I don't want to get rid of the It Policy if i have not backed up my Bold!!!
Any ideas?
