Default General Wi-Fi Question

Please Login to Remove!

You'll have to excuse me for this question, as I'm sure it's elementary to most of you out here.
I'm just wondering about Wi-Fi on my 8900, and if it's better/worse than the general wireless signal used most often for internet access. Try to understand that I was using my 8100 up until last week (my first blackberry), and it didn't have GPS or Wi-Fi. Now that I've upgraded have it, I'm just wondering what is the difference & advantages (if any). Should I use it more or less than the wireless signal I use mostly all the time?

In advance, thanks for the help.

WiFi = fast
EDGE = much slower. EDGE runs at a sustained rate of 80-90 kbps. Wifi is many times faster than that.

Thanks for the info NJB. You have no idea how many explanations I got from googling it, and none of them made any sense.
You on the other hand gave me a simple answer that was more help than all that other stuff.
