It happens to me once or twice a month. I pick up my BlackBerry 7290 and I notice "SIM Card Rejected" where it normally says "vodafone NL". I have to hard reset the BB to get rid of the error.

There are two other users with a 7290 and they have it as well, but less frequently. Four users with a 7230 never have that problem.

Our provider isn't very helpful, basically they simply don't now how to solve it. They claim we are the only users with this problem. Replacing the 7290 for another 7290 doesn't help. Replacing the SIM card doesn’t help. Every software version from 4.0.0.x to 4.0.2.49 has been tried but it does not seem to make a difference.

Do other BB 7290 users have similar problems? Could it be a problem with Vodafone in The Netherlands? Are any other Dutch BB users having problems like this?

Only option left is to have the BB unlocked, because "SIM Card Rejected' normally means a SIM card from another provider is inserted. They charge 50 euros for that, and already said that even if that solves the problem I have to pay for it.

it doensn't have to be unlocked to solve the issue but clearly it is a vodafone NL issue. Something in their system doesn't have the SIM completley provisioned right.
