Default blackberry 9500 storm - help needed

Please Login to Remove!

before i start , thanks for any replies i get on this.
Right i just got myself a blackberry storm , used to have a htc magic but had to get a storm through insurance as my magic was bust.
Anyway ive got the storm now, no real choice in the matter and when i got it out i was pretty impressed with the look and the menus etc however a few things are bugging me
1/ when i followed the set up wizard to use email it asks about whether i want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server ????? im assuming i dont but dont know what it actually means . it then gives me the options have i had an enterprise activation password, which i havent (do i need this and where do i get it from ??)
and finally no matter whether i say ove got one or not all i keep coming to is contact your service administrator to find out whether u need a password or if u need to install the blackberry desktop software ????

i have a hotmail account which id like to use on my blackberry and thought i could or if absolutly must i would create a new account ????

also the internet seems to be hit and miss, my htc was like lightening straight onto the net and quick from one page to another however this seems to take an age to connect and i have to go to the vodafone live website as my homepage, any way i can speed things up or get this voda thing off an replace it with another homepage , there doesnt seem to be an option ???

And finally on my magic i could download loads of apps from an option called marketplace mainly for free , but i had some wicked apps - now ive only had a quick mess about on my blackberry but where (if possible) can i get some apps and are they free etc ???

Any help will be proper thankfully received , i know some of u will be thinking im not too clued up lol but its first blackberry ive had and tbh all of the things ive asked i cant find anyway of getting round myself, cheers !

You must have a BlackBerry Data Plan from your carrier (cell service provider) in order to get the Personal Email Setup on the BlackBerry.

Call your carrier and have them set up the correct data plan.

You will not be able to get BlackBerry Data features without a BLACKBERRY Data Plan.

You need the BlackBerry Browser in order to install those apps.

As above, you MUST have a BB data plan for any of the BB related services such as email, BBM, BB apps store, BB browser, etc.

From our FAQ: What do I need a Data Plan for? - BlackBerryFAQ

Yeah I guess thats normal, depends what talktime plan you're on. mine is with o2 and I'm allowed a free bolt on which I can choose to be "unlimited blackberry". You should just check if there are any restrictions on data useage.

ive got unlimited internet on my plan anyways, seem to have the phone all sorted now like, last things thats bugging me tho is the apps , i downloaded the bb app world thing and is this the only source i can get apps from as my old phone , the htc magic used to have a marketplace on it where i could see all apps and if im honest the bb apps from the app world arent a patch on the htc ones, most of the htc ones were free and their free ones seem a lot better than the bb ones you have to pay for and you had a far greater choice, surely there are other sources arent there ???

What silence? You've been helped along here the entire way.

You want to know if App World is the only place to download apps? No, it is not. Try our Apps store here, see the link at the top of this page to our BlackBerryApps store, run by Mobihand. Also Handango is another.
