If you use Yahoo through BIS when anybody with a Blackberry sends you mail – or you send them mail – there is a “delivery notification” message generated in your sent mail on Yahoo on the web. The delivery notification is basically the sent message. There is no way to access this message on the BB – you have to log into Yahoo on the web. If you put Yahoo through Outlook on your computer you can’t access it from there either… it has to be Yahoo via the web.

This is specific to BB – if you put Yahoo through other phones/devices this does not happen. That is what makes this so strange...

Does anybody know why RIM does this - or how I might disable it?

I have banged away at every setting I can think of – I have tried filters – but nothing has gotten around me logging into several differnt Yahoo accounts via the web each night and cleaning up the BB sent messages.

Does anybody have a way around this frustrating problem that maybe I have not thought of?

I have a Yahoo account accessed by the BB and do not see these mesages. Not sure why you see them. Is this a Yahoo account set up as an additional email account on the BB? It should access the email account directly via the BIS and not need to acknoledge sent or received emails. I would check options on both the BB and the Yahoo account.
