I have only 350 contacts in my address book, the book contains business, family and personel contacts.

My question is can I create a group for each then move the contacts and only view the three folders when I enter into the address book?

Have you entered each contact into a category? There are some preset ones and you can edit or make new ones. Once you've done that, you can filter the lists.

I own a 7730 running on v3.7.1.21.

But right now having problem creating group address. My Address Menu has New Group, Add Member but no Continue after selecting an address.

I have a 7280 BB and can not find where to assign catagory or creat new. I know that this was a Palm feature on M515. Where is it on the BB

Okay, first, I think Ang Lim and Stuff are looking to do two different things. Ang, your question has been answered before and what I think you are trying to do can't be done. You may have to do another search or wait for me to remember what the answer was. Sorry. I'll try.

Stuff, I have a 7100t, but I wouldn't imagine it to be that different as far as the software concerning the address book. You should be able to scroll all the way down to the bottom and see categories: select it and then it should pull you to a list of categories. You can select one that is already listed and you can also add a new one from that screen.

Your 7100t is running v3.8 (as does the 7290). I believe that the handhelds need to be upgraded to 3.8 or higher (that means 4.0) in order to get categories. I believe categories appeared in 3.8. The software is different.

I did as you suggested and at the bottom of the addresses there were not catagories. I then checked to see what version I was running and the version is V3.7.1.21. I looked the version up in the module information.

I down loaded version 4.0 and installed. The catagorys were in the new version.

Think I found the trick after all the fiddering. I notice the Address Group works only with those addresses having email address. One way to workaround those without email address is to enter any alphabet as dummy email address. It all works!

KendallParis's prompting of possible solution does help me not to give up. Thanks.

A followup question to catagories on addresses. I have a 7290 with 4.0 software (also on desktop) but the BES is running an old version (2.8 I think!). I still have no catagories on addresses however I do have them on tasks. Any ideas??
