Default Need alittle help.

I'm having alittle issue, i recently bought a blackberry curve 8520. This is my first blackberry, my recent phones have all been sidekicks. The issue i am having is this, When i purchased my Blackberry i had a 2gig memory card in my sidekick 2009 LX. I had a ton of pictures on the memory card, when i put it in my blackberry i get an error "A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors please use a disk error checking utility on a computer." I have no idea what that means, but i would like to get the pictures i had on that memory card working with my blackberry. When i had purchased the Blackberry i asked the salesman if i was able to do such thing, and he said yes i would have to "format" the memory card with the blackberry desktop manager. If anyone could help me, and explain exactly what that means i would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Put the card from your Sidekick in a card reader and connect it to your computer.
Copy the files from card to your computer.
Reformat the card on your computer.
Put the card in your BlackBerry.
Reformat the card on your BlackBerry. Options > Media Card (or Memory depending on your OS version) > Menu > Format
Put the card back in your computer and copy the pictures into the pictures folder that has been created on your card.
Put the card back in your BlackBerry and allow the BlackBerry to scan the library of media files.
