Default Blackberry 9700 HELP!!

Please Login to Remove!

last week, my blackberry 9700 got wet and basically the water damage indicators on my phone and my battery are pink now. However, the phone works just fine, except for one problem..It doesnt seem to charge the battery. I can see the lightning bolt sign but the percentage of the charge doesnt change. I tried charging it from USB, no changes. My mother has the same phone, so I tried to put my battery in her phone and it charged fine. I assumed its my phone. Then i put her new battery into my phone, it doesnt charge either, and batter dies really fast. I dont know what to do, i only bought it a few weeks ago. Everything works perfect, except for this charging issue.

So it is able to charge in your mothers phone? You may be SOL because it is water damage, from my knowledge most warranties do not cover that.

Yes, even though the battery is water damaged it works perfectly fine in my mother's phone. No matter which battery i put in MY phone, it drains really fast (1-3 hours) and when I plug it in to charge, it shows that its charging but the percentage of the charge doesn't change (the bars don't move). Is there a chance it will work again? I hope its a temporary issue and it fixes itself haha

If the battery will charge in her phone but not yours, it sounds like a phone issue itself. I get what your talking about with hoping it fixes itself, haha. I got a phone of mine very wet and awhile later it started working again after putting it in some rice, I was quite impressed.

Have you put your phone in a bag of rice?

Another thing you have to be wary of is most people try to turn on the phone after it comes in contact with water which will cause the most problems. It's best to dry it out first before trying to do too much on it.
