Also fairly new to the BB world. I am currently using the Tour 9630 on Verizon, issued by company in November. I am now leaving for another job, and another BB. I want to know the best way to transfer my current contact list, so I can bring all my personal contacts with me. One other issue is that my current laptop is also company issued, so I won't have access to the same BB Desktop Manager. If I create a backup file on one laptop with BB DM, and install BB DM on my next laptop is there a file that I can transfer via USB and restore on new BB when I get it? I am also pretty sure that the new BB will be on US Cellular if that matters. My current IT dept is no help, they are the most worthless group I have ever worked with. Another question, can I pick and choose which contacts to backup? I am not interested in taking my business contacts. Thanks in advance for any help.

I suggest setting up Google Sync on your current BB and syncing your contacts. When you get a new BB you can set up the same Google account on it and bring in your contacts from the Google cloud.
