Default Which blackberry to buy, It will be my first BB

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Till now I had been using my Motorola(A1200) and its been 4yrs since I stuck to this phone.. The reason being. I just love it for all the functionalities it provides by default..

But Its come of age .. and I need to access the net 24/7 (which was a slight problem with the one I have).

I know BB has no rivals when it comes to connectivity , So i'll keep that aside.. Apart from that I have a few things that NO one at the showrooms were able to clarify... Very irritated with the unprofessional behaviour.

Here are my requirements.. (btw I live in Bangalore ,India).
The model i've narrowed down to is the BB-8900
Things Im looking out for are:

1. Can I create a folder for my messages(SMS/MMS) and lock it using a password?
2. Can I direct the incoming messages directly to this locked folder based on a few filters...
3. Do i have different profiles that I can set.. and custom settings on all these profiles are to be loaded when I change over..
Think of it as your regular windows machine , with different accounts you login to, you can have different wallpapers set up, different ringtones.. (this should be present anyway)
And pretty much it should feel like there is a completely different user...
4. I hear that points 1 and 2 can be done via apps that are available for download.. (not free though), I need to get an account from my service provider , pay extra and make the download.
Is it true? Does this phone not have these features by default?

Can anyone please tell me about all privacy settings available on this phone.. The reason being its of prime importance to me that these features are provided by default...
Apart from the model that i've specified are there any other models that I can look at? which might perhaps provide these functionalities?

1. No
2. No
3. yes for sounds, no for wallpapers.
4. ive never heard of apps for those issues either.
There is a SMS/MMS folder choice, so only SMS/MMS will go into that folder. But its not lockable with a password. Only the whole device.
