Default A question on BES sync

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7290 T-Mo BES connected to exchange. However, where I live/work out of my home office I do not get service from T-mo, hence I do not get wireless sync to my berry.

Now when I go back into a service area it syncs up and I get tons of mail delivered to the berry - this is fine but what I would like to know is can I connect the 7290 to the laptop with desktop manager and will it sync mail and schedules that way without any problems?

I'm most concerned about getting the schedules sync'd this way so that I can more effectively manage them.

Steve

If the necessary ports are open (i.e. there isn't a firewall/vpn requirement/etc between you and the bes server), then yes, when you connect via usb/serial to a machine running desktop manager, it will sync over the cable.

FYI->necessary port to cradle and get email is 4101. This is the connection to the BB router through handheld manager.
Also, it's not syncing, but being pushed through the USB from the router service...like a lower cost routing.

And only if you are on BES 4.0 with DM 4.0 (or higher) loaded.
