Default Moving Messages in Inbox: not reflected in the Blackberry

When I move messages from my inbox (in outlook 2003) to a different
folder, that doesn't get reflected (or reconciled) with my blackberry.
And, the email still hangs around in the blackberry, even though the
corresponding message has been moved out of the Inbox on the desktop.
Am I doing something wrong? Or, is this not doable?

I am using the later 3.x ver of the OS and 3.x of the BES server with an exhcnage server.

thanx in advnce

Go into redirector settings. Make sure all the folders within the inbox are manually selected! By default, only Inbox (without child directories) are set to reconcile.

I have experienced the same issue. When we first setup the BB handhelds they were working fine. Messages that were deleted or moved to another in Outlook 2003 were also removed from the BB device. Recently we have noticed that the reconciling is not working and users have an increasing number of messages in their BB message folder that have been deleted or moved on in Outlook.

My understanding of the redirector setting is that folder redirection is used to indicate which folders messages are to be sent to the BB. I do not think it is for reconciliation.

For good folders synchronization, you need BlackBerryOS 4.0 and BES 4.0

I too am having this problem ... seemed to work better under the 3.x version

Currently using 4.x version on both handheld and BES

The messages I am filing are getting filed into .pst folders outside of the exchange server that I am not sync'ing on the device (they are >GB in size)

We were having the problem of messages remaining in the inbox on the BB after they had been filed to personal folders within Outlook. The problem was solved by upgrading the PST (Personal Folder file) to Outlook 2003 format. Actually, a new PST file was created in Outlook 2003 and existing messages/sub-folders were transferred to the new personal folder file (be sure to specify Outlook 2003 format when creating the new PST file). Then this new Personal folder file was selected as the Personal Folder set to use in the BB Desktop Manager.

It seems the cause of the problem was using pre-Outlook 2003 personal folders with Outlook 2003 and Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.0.

I've see this same problem discussed in other threads without a solution. Hope this helps out some of you.

Hello,

My blackberry (7290) is not reconcilling properly either. I have upgraded to 4.0 on the desktop and handheld and still the messages that have been deleted in my OUTLOOK are still on my Blackberry. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 7730 and am running Windows and Office XP. I have several PSTs on my Hard Drive, outside of the Exchange Server. If I move a mail from the Inbox to a PST it remains on the Blackberry, I think this is the same issue many others are reporting, but it doesn't seem to have been addressed yet. Is there anything that can be done?

Many thanks in advance

Andrew

Hi,

Environment:
Blackberry 7290 (OS 4.0)
BES 4.0

I have almost the same problem. When I delete a message a message on my BB, this change is not reflected in Microsoft Outlook 2003. Now you have delete everything twice. Any idea??????

I have to say that everything else works great.

Regards,
Marck

If you have an account on a blackberry enterprise server and you want email reconciliation to work, DO NOT deliver your email into a .pst file or personal folder. The BES detects the message status by scanning your Exchange mailbox. The BES does not have access to your local computers .pst file, thus changes to your .pst file will not be picked up.
