Hi,

I live in Thailand, own a BOLD 9000 (which has the 3G capability). Service providers here are not so ready for 3G. I am with a BB plan that supports all sorts, except 3G, while the 3G provider does not yet provide BB services. I am just worried and wondering if I were to switch to the 3G provider to utilize high-speed internet access on my BOLD 9000, would I be able to use:
1. BBM?
2. Internet Browser?
3. Other chat services, ie. MSN?

I understand that without BB services, I am not able to use certain features. But I am wondering because I got wi-fi, 3G and EDGE, but somehow, without a BB service registered (which the 3G provider does not yet support), I am not able to use certain services. It is not that I do not want to subscribe to BB service (as I am now subscribed with my current carrier), but it is just that how come my unit so powerful but my usage is so limited?

Well, please help clarify, if my PIN is not subscribed to BB service, but if I am hooked with a 3G network, and if I have my wi-fi access ready, what Internet services (browsing, chats, maps, alerts, etc.) of the BOLD 9000 am I able to use? I have no choice, but I really want to hook with my 3G network provider, but they somehow do not have BB services....

please please please help me out here.

Welcome to the forums.

You won't be able to use BBM without a BlackBerry data plan
You won't be able to use the BB Browser without a BB data plan, but you could use a 3rd party browser (Opera Mini, Bolt) with a generic data plan
Some 3rd party applications do require a BB Data plan as well.

You must be subscribed to a BlackBerry data plan through your carrier to use the services like BBM, Internet Browser, etc. 3G is not important in getting these features. You can access them under EDGE if that's the fastest connection you can get. But if your carrier does not support BlackBerrys you won't get the features you want.
