Default BB-8520 wont receive via bluetooth from any phone

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Recently my friend tried to share some photos via bluetooth and no matter what i tried it always used to say 'sending failed'.

I've tried with nokia and motorola , in both cases i cannot receive anything via bluetooth.. however I was able to share contacts from my BB with the nokia..

Can anyone tell me what settings i need to change so that I can get it working?

Blackberry bluetooth works a bit differently to other phones.Instructions for receiving files from other devices can be found in the user manual but basically it goes like this:-

If you want to receive a picture from another phone,go to media/pictures on your BB,press the menu (Blackberry) button and select "receive via bluetooth",then send the file from the other phone.

The above instructions might not be correct word for word as I don't have my BB to hand at the moment but if you try it or read your manual I'm sure you'll see what I mean.Your Blackberry will not accept files from other phones untill you set it to receive them.

well Im sorry to say this.. But the very first thing I did after getting this phone was to read the manual..

And its very very basic.. It only teaches me how to insert the SIM , memory card .
Take photos and videos..

There is nothing that i could find on how to connect to other mobiles via blutooth/wi-fi issue nothing like that...

I must say the manual is terrible.

It sounds like you only have the quick start guide.

Just a thought but I suppose you could spend about 30 seconds with Google (which I have done for you) and read or download the full user manual from here

You will find the section on Bluetooth is pages 186 to 192

Use the search feature and don't post unrelated questions in other people's threads.
