its for your data plan you just chose the wrong data plan. there are two different data plans the 29.99 one and the 44.95 one you chose

If your Blackberry is working, that was the cost of your data plan.
I am not sure if Verizon charges extra for BES. Our data plans are around $30, but that is with our Government discount (all of our Blacberry devices are on BIS).

Yes, you just need to CLEARLY communicate (as opposed to you you've communicated with them previously) that you don't need to be on a BES and that you need the plan changed to the BIS plan.

BIS is $29.99/month
BES is $44.99/month

While you will be able to have it changed to a BIS plan instead of the BES plan, (a $15/month savings), it is not likely that you will be able to get a refund of the price difference. Nor will you be able to remove it entirely as long as you use a blackberry on Verizon (or any of the other major US carriers).

However, I do encourage you to make the change from BES to BIS as soon a possiblie so that you won't be spending the extra $15/month.

If they billed you for both BIS and BES they should credit your account for at least 6 months of these charges. Longer then that and you might have to argue. Their only contention would be "why did you wait so long to notice this?". I don't know what Verizon's TOS looks like, but they might have something in it to the effect that you only have a certain amount of time to dispute charges.
