Smile Password Keeper, Trans Bookmarks, Remove Carrier Apps, and Changing Icons

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all!

Thanks in advance for any assistance...Using the 9700

1. Password Keeper - I probably have 100 sites I would need to enter. Is there anyway to do the setup on my PC, and transfer it to the blackberry?

2. Bookmarks - Same thing. Got tons of 'em. Anyway to import my bookmarks.htm to the blackberry? Come to think of it, I am signed up with Delicious, but it would be nice to have the bookmarks directly accessed from the browser.

3. Remove Carrier Installed Apps - How do I remove apps that are installed on the device, but they don't show up as an uninstall option via bb desktop manager? For example, the ATT navigator. I know I will never use it and don't need it...

4. Change the Icons - I installed a new theme, and it looks great. However, there are few icons that resemble a regular folder look. How would I go about changing them if I wanted to?

5. Home Page Icons - Are the number of icons available on the home screen specific to the theme installed on the device? Or is there a setting available where it can be changed?

Again, thanks in advance

To my knowledge...

1. No

2. No

3. There are several files you can remove - I would recommend checking out one of the many threads dedicated to optimizing your blackberry.

4. Certain native applications are not able to be changed - such as the VVM icon. There's a sometimey issue with the Gmail folder icon, and also make sure you do a complete battery pull after installing a new theme. Sometimes it takes a few to get the new theme to completely settle.

5. Theme-specific; not much you can do about that.

3 - for the most part those are not applications but Service Books - more like bookmarks. You can't delete them, so move them to a folder and hide them.

5. the number of icons is theme specific, however (depending on the theme) you can change which icons show there.

1. instead of password keeper, i suggest using KeePass for blackberry. I would suggest installing keepass on your desktop and blackberry because this allows you to keep a record of your passwords (.kdb) in two places in case one gets corrupted. I've been using this program for years and have kept the same password file and moved it between 3-4 desktops and two separate phone OS's with no issues.

go to keepass.info for a download
