Default How to disable wireless sync on 8530?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone!

I just got my new smoky 8530 from Verizon -- an upgrade from the pink curve. I am having a very hard time turning off the wireless sync function on the phone. I don't know where to go. I need to sync my phone with my outlook to get the contacts. Please help! Thank you so so so much!

If you are attached to a BES, you will not be able to disable wireless sync.

Default Disabling wireless sync on 8530

Hi All

I actually found this posted on this site earlier (I thought) and it helped me:

Go to Contacts>Press trackpad>Menu key>General Options
Scroll to your email address and highlight
Press trackpad to enter
You will see "Wireless Synchronization"
Scroll to "No" and press trackpad to accept

I was then able to sync my address book

Hope this helps.

Learn something new every day. Aparently RIM has set the default on newer BB's to wireless sync. As shown on their web site. who knows why but they must think everyone is on a BES.
