Default Gmail IMAP push read email

Please Login to Remove!

i recently bought the new tour 9630 and set it up with my two gmail accounts (one personal through google, one academic through google apps). i am reasonably unfamiliar with email systems so bear with me...

when i get an email i...

1. read it on my BB and it then appears as read on the browser client
2. read it on th browser client, but it still shows as unread on my BB. how do i get emails to appear as read on both places, regardless of where it was read?

thanks

Assuming you are on a BIS, which by the sounds of it I think that you are, its impossible to have the client push a "read request" through the BIS, as least as far as I know. Hopefully RIM decides to implement that feature in the upcoming BIS upgrade.

The next update of BIS (version 3.0) is supposed to bring more capabilities to GMail, in particular the read/unread syncing you're looking for. As it stands now, that functionality is a feature of BES only.
