I am thinking about selling my iPod Touch and getting a Blackberry.
Which blackberry would you suggest?
I need wifi for sure-- I don't need 3G. So have narrowed it down to Bold 9700 and Curve 8900 and Storm2.
What do you think its the best one? I need a really good keyboard because I write a lot of emails.

The "best" is really up to you. First, choose a carrier that has good reception in your area. Then go to that carriers store, see what they offer, handle each one, then choose.

Also, make sure to get a "Blackberry Data plan". Otherwise you will not get full functionality.

Decide which carrier works best where you live, work, play and travel to.
Then pick the BlackBerry.

I'll come right out and say it: 7105t.

1. Proven technology, not some trendy new device.
2. Old school thumb wheel.
3. Outstanding battery life.

Its all about the 950.

Another vote for carrier first then the device that best fits your needs, whatever they may be.

Especially since the devices that they are trying to decide on are not all with one carrier. (If the OP is looking to get a subsidy at least)

what is the data plan? What does it do for you? And if I bougt one off eBay so would would not have to pay the two year contract would it still work for like email and stuff?

If you don't want a data plan you should probably get a Nokia E71 or Motorola Q instead of a BlackBerry.
