I cancelled my data plan recently, and since then I have not been able to use my applications through wifi, but the broswer works fine. I was wondering if there was a way where I could force or have a way for these applications to work through wifi?

Nope. You need the data plan.

Although use of data over WiFi doesn't count against your data allotment for your plan, the BlackBerry Data Plan is still required on your account for it to work.
