hi, i understand most of you will be in the US but i have a problem using my unlocked Tour on Movistar Spain. Movistar said they couldnt help me because the phone is American and gave me a spanish helpline to call which didnt help. In the contract I have with Movistar particularly for Blackberries it says I should connect to 3G but my phone wont connect at all. Any ideas?

And just in case, do you have a BlackBerry specific data plan? A regular one will not work properlly.

thank you for the welcoming!

i got it unlocked back in the states and im pretty sure it is since it was a verizon phone and now i have movistar as my carrier and the man at the company told me that I did get a blackberry specific data plan but could it be that the tour needs its own plan within blackberry plans? basically im technology illiterate and every time i try and connect my browser it tells me i have no coverage or just stays on the initial blackberry screen and doesnt go anywhere. I am on the 3g network but should i do another one? they also told me at movistar that it could take a while before i receive the data plan but its been 24 hours now.. eek.

thanks for any help...

An unlocked Tour running on GSM will only connect at EDGE speed at best. You have to log into the BIS site for Movistar and enter the device's IMEI and PIN to associate that device with their network. Then you can send the service books to your Tour from that same page.
