Go into Options, then select About.
It will give you the model number.

guillaume133 03-20-2010 04:51 AM

sorry.. didn't find an "options", nor an about :/

I thought of the settings.. but there wasn't anything of the such in there.

In the MAIN MENU this is what there is :
-Email
-Message center
-Services
-Phonebook
-Settings
-Call Center
-Multimedia
-Organiser
-File manager
-User profiles
-Google
-Extra
-Fun
-Camera
-Audio player
-Phone TV
-FM-Radio
-Video
-Alarm
-Msn
-Keypad lock
-shut down

If I go on Settings
this is what I see:
-Dual SIM settings
-Phone Setup
-Network setum
-Security setup
-Restore factory settings
-Sound effects

Its not a Blackberry, its a chinese fake.
Heres why.
1. BB = no silver around trackball
2. BB = no TV button
3. BB = no silver round screen.
4. BB = no dual sim settings AND no dual sim at all.
5. BB = no FM radio

JSanders 03-20-2010 06:42 AM

Yep, not even a good fake.

guillaume133 03-20-2010 06:46 AM

there is silver around track ball
there is dual sim
there IS a tv button
there is Radio
antenna..

dudes wth..

JSanders 03-20-2010 06:49 AM

And it's not a BlackBerry.

Since there is no Options > About, what's on the white sticker under the battery?

guillaume133 03-20-2010 07:14 AM

Sim1 slot / Sim2 slot // Micro sd slot // a "B-H 08-09" sticker // an "NCC" sticker

Model : B9630+

M_IMEI : 355648032389691

S_IMEI : 355648032489699

JSanders 03-20-2010 07:15 AM

You've confirmed again, it's not a BlackBerry.

guillaume133 03-20-2010 07:24 AM

okay.. well thank you..
but if it's not a blackberry.. then it's a "chinese fake" ?

what does that mean though?

Motorcycle Mama 03-20-2010 07:37 AM

Counterfeit device. Knock off. Fake. Imitation. Bogus. False. Forged. Inauthentic. Phony.

Not a BlackBerry.

rambo47 03-20-2010 07:31 PM

And it won't be usable on the BlackBerry infrastructure. No PIN or BB Messenger messaging, no BlackBerry email, etc.

Trimix 03-20-2010 08:08 PM

It's a device made to look like a BlackBerry when in reality it's not.

okader 03-20-2010 10:10 PM

that was a good catch. good job guys

Motorcycle Mama 03-21-2010 08:05 AM

It's not even a good fake.

Kamau 03-21-2010 11:29 AM

May not be a BB, but does it work? I mean, is it a decent phone? If it is, use it as a back up when you get a real BB.
If nothing else, impress your friends.

Noodle22 03-21-2010 01:45 PM

If your ever unsure, just go to BlackBerry's website where there is a photo of each and every model, you can find which model you have, and if you don't see it there, it's a fake.

The square metal around the trackball was the first give away for me, it's so out of place, then the call and end call buttons aren't correct as well. Chinese fakes often boast that you can get TV on your "BlackBerry", but a real BlackBerry won't have a tv button.

To clarify MD, she was saying BB = "equals" NO fm radio. So she was correct in saying that those features should NOT be there. Not that the BB should have those features.
